ADP is hiring a Sr. Director, Reliability Engineering

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Director of Reliability Engineering to lead our efforts in establishing robust processes and product controls across our Software Development Life Cycle. This role is critical for ensuring our product teams adopt and adhere to the highest standards of reliability and resilience in their operations.

The Senior Director of Reliability Engineering will be a visionary leader, dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in system reliability. Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up Chaos Engineering capability for a complex technology portfolio. Lead the chaos engineering initiative, proactively identifying system vulnerabilities and implementing strategies to bolster system resilience.
  • Develop and define comprehensive processes and product control standards within the SDLC framework, facilitating their adoption across all product teams.
  • Conduct proactive and deep-dive analyses into individual System of Record (SOR) architectures, assessing their reliability and suggesting improvements.
  • Actively engage in Critical Incident Response Teams and lead the post-mortem investigations to drive continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate and participate in table-top exercises with Business Continuity Planning (BCP) teams to ensure preparedness and effective response strategies.
  • Play a pivotal role in internal and external Resiliency and Recovery audits, representing the engineering team's efforts and compliance.
  • Review and provide insights on annual Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises, ensuring that they meet our stringent standards for reliability.
  • Innovate by building advanced AI-driven features, including fault prediction and risk assessment tools, to stay ahead of potential issues.
  • Design and implement comprehensive monitoring dashboards that provide real-time insights into system performance, reliability, and health, enabling informed decision-making and rapid response to incidents.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • 15+ years of experience in a reliability engineering role, with at least 5+ years in a leadership position.
  • Proven track record of improving system reliability and performance in a large-scale, high-availability environment.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, SOR architecture, and BCP protocols.
  • Expertise in leading cross-functional teams during crisis situations and a thorough understanding of incident management protocols.
  • Experience with AI and machine learning techniques as they apply to predictive modeling and risk assessment.
  • Exceptional skills in the development of monitoring tools and dashboards.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
