Job Description

The Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist will develop, implement, and assess digital communication strategies (i.e., social media, short-form video, web content, and the like) to raise awareness and increase engagement with Student Health Services (SHS) clinical resources and health promotion and prevention programs. The Specialist will be responsible for identifying channels and tactics that expand SHS visibility and approachability among priority audiences and the BU community at-large. The Specialist is part of the Marketing & Communications team within the Health Promotion & Prevention department, which supports all SHS departments through consultation, collaboration, and content development that amplifies our multifaceted resources.

Required Skills

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 3-5 years of experience
  • Experience with a variety of print and digital marketing and communication channels, managing social media account, familiarity with graphic design and video production tools
  • Knowledge of Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, video editing software, Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to tailor messaging to target populations
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across Student Health Services such as healthcare providers, preventionists, and student employees
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with emerging adults, particularly those in a higher education setting. 
  • Experience developing health communications for young adult audiences that focus on topics such as substance use, sexual health, mental health and interpersonal violence prevention.
