The Lead Subsea Controls Engineer will be responsible for providing technical expertise, leadership and governance to a range of activities related to the Baker Hughes Control System install base within the Services APAC Region

Play an important role in delivering outcomes for customers

This is a client facing position for a Lead Subsea Controls Engineer. You’ll be working directly with the customer's teams on the existing and new install base. The role will require a proactiveness across all functions within the business as you’ll need to work and manage scopes across geographical diverse teams.

As a Lead Subsea Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing scopes in line with customer and project requirements and priorities
  • Define Cost Time Resource (CTR) requirements for engineering planning and forecasting purposes
  • Driving engineering and team activities to ensure “on time” delivery to the customer
  • Increasing the region level of ownership and accountability over APACI project execution, generate more autonomy and regional capacity and capabilities.
  • Collaborating during design reviews, work with the Controlled Titles at all stages during project execution, input into the project risk matrix and drive mitigation activities.
  • Collaborating with key personnel to assess the manpower required for offshore installations (including skill gaps), provide planning support, inputting and reviewing procedures for the offshore installations and lead the offshore teams during commissioning and start-up.
  • Ensuring deliverables meet Customer technical specifications, regional Technical Regulations and Standards for Australia.
  • Dispositioning, reviewing and approving product clarifications, procedures and technical reports.
  • Providing technical engineering support and leadership during business and non-business hours, including rota based 24-7 engineering on-call.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Degree in Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineering, or Industrial Computer Systems Engineering or related discipline or an equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience.
  • Have at +10 years of engineering experience within the subsea industry or related service organisation.
  • Have domain expertise in SCADA systems, PLC operations, Instrumentation product design and operation.
  • Have domain expertise in subsea control systems including but not limited to the subsea and topside Software development and communication protocols.
  • Have good domain knowledge in the operational requirements associated with DCS, MCS, PCDMs, SCMs, SEMs, HPUs, XTs and umbilical’s
  • Have domain expertise in EPC Project and Control System Design, system test and commissioning activities from product FAT through to Control System eFAT and offshore commissioning.
