Biology Research Associate


Job Summary

The In Vitro Biology Research Associate will be a key member of the team charged with developing multiple cell-based and histological assays to support drug discovery programs.  The role entails characterization of selected targets in cellular systems and in tissues from experimental mouse models as well as dissecting biological pathways for pharmacological intervention using molecular and histological methods.  Candidates must have relevant experience in multiple aspects of cellular and/or molecular biology. Successful candidates must be able to work effectively both in a collaborative setting and independently and possess outstanding written, visual and oral communications skills.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Molecular and histological characterization of tissues or organoids from genetic and experimental models alone or in combination with drug treatment
  • Assay development in organoids; testing platform-derived targets for physiological relevance in organoids
  • Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of biologists and chemists to develop mechanism of action assays to support current programs
  • Compilation of results into comprehensive reports

Qualifications and Education Requirements

You must have:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Biology
  • Research experience in molecular biology, cell biology or cellular pharmacology
  • A firm grasp of experimental design and a commitment to excellence 

Additional preferred experience includes:

  • Experience in sectioning and staining animal tissue or organoids for confocal microscopy
  • Cell culture experience
  • In vitro pharmacology
