The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Liquidity Strategy Analyst to develop, implement, and monitor liquidity management strategies while ensuring compliance in collateral management programs. The ideal candidate will possess liquidity management experience in Property & Casualty Insurance, Life Insurance, or Banking, coupled with an understanding of liquidity risk management principles and relevant regulations. Proficiency in liquidity risk management systems and modeling is needed, along with strong analytical skills to derive meaningful outcomes for partners. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital, as is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, or Charlotte, NC

What you'll do:

  • Develops analytical strategies, tools and methodologies to model, measure, and assess capital and liquidity adequacy across the enterprise including insurance, investment and banking subsidiaries.
  • Develops capital and liquidity policies and comprehensive capital plans and contingency funding plans.
  • Independently assesses and communicates regulatory capital and liquidity rules.
  • Conducts balance sheet analysis integrating capital, liquidity, cash and investment strategies. Makes recommendations to leadership on analysis.
  • Responsible for efficient deployment of capital and liquidity across the enterprise, including insurance, investment and banking lines of business, to meet multiple regulatory, rating agency and internal management objectives.
  • Responsible for efficient management of cash positions for the enterprise, insurance, investment and banking lines of business.
  • Leads intercompany capital transactions and member distribution strategies.
  • Advises key partners on capital and liquidity management issues according to industry standard processes.
  • Evaluates analysis and provides recommendations to governance committees if a risk tolerance is exceeded.
  • Key contributor to Dodd Frank Act Stress Testing (DFAST) and Treasury initiatives in enterprise stress test planning and execution.
  • Evaluates stress scenario results and establishes contingency plans in partnership with key business partners for reporting to senior management, governance committees, and the respective boards of directors.
  • Analyzes stress scenario impacts to the USAA Consolidated/P&C/Bank/Life Capital Plans and Contingency Funding Plans and associated capital and liquidity metrics for reporting to senior management, governance committees, and the respective boards of directors.
  • Primary contributor in the preparation and communication of key capital and liquidity plans, metrics, analysis and reports to governance committees, senior management, regulatory bodies and the USAA Board of Directors.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 6 years of related experience in Finance, Risk Management, Treasury, Capital and Liquidity Management and/or Accounting.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office products including Excel.
  • Validated ability to influence and build cross-functional relationships with employees of various levels throughout the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build and present executive-level presentations.
  • Ability to work with both internal and external partners.

What sets you apart:

  • Liquidity management experience in P&C Insurance, Life Insurance or Banking
  • Understanding of liquidity risk management principals including bank regulations; familiarity with liquidity risk management systems and modeling experience.
  • Sound analytical skills and the ability to synthesize results into meaningful outcomes for key partners.
  • Proven strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present at all levels
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Designation

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $114,080 - $218,030

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
