Who We Are

Wayfair believes everyone deserves a home they love, and that furnishing your home should be a source of fun, not frustration. Our Product team plays a crucial role in delivering on this vision by developing best-in-class platforms and systems that enable personalized, scalable, and impactful customer experiences across our global business.

The Customer Identity & Understanding team is building the foundational systems that power Wayfair’s personalization and targeting capabilities. Our mission is to deeply understand who our customers are, even before they log in, and make that intelligence actionable across the company. We develop the core Customer Data Platform (CDP), including identity resolution, cross-device and cross-session stitching, feature engineering pipelines for machine learning, and geo-based inference engines to personalize for every customer, including in cold-start scenarios.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager who thrives at the intersection of data platforms, machine learning, and customer-centric strategy. You’ll define the product roadmap for customer data collection and activation, balancing long-term architectural bets with high-impact applications that power recommendations, marketing, and broader shopping experiences. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, and teams across Wayfair to unlock scalable, privacy-aware insights about our customers.

You are a technical systems thinker with a strong product sense, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate messy customer signals into clean, high-signal data products.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and execute the roadmap for Customer Identity & Understanding, including:
    • Our deterministic and probabilistic identity graph, enabling persistent recognition of customers across devices, browsers, and sessions
    • The customer feature platform, powering personalization and ML model features across surfaces (Search, Recommendations, Marketing, etc.)
    • Enrichment pipelines for geo-based personalization, cold-start user inference, and audience understanding
  • Partner with engineering to make architectural tradeoffs that balance long-term scalability, data quality, and time-to-impact
  • Drive alignment across partner teams on data definitions, customer segmentation needs, and attribution approaches
  • Collaborate with legal, privacy, and security teams to ensure all identity solutions are built with privacy-by-design principles
  • Evangelize customer intelligence as a strategic differentiator for the business, tying your roadmap to downstream metrics (CTR, CVR, AOV, LTV)
  • Translate stakeholder needs into well-scoped platform enhancements that are modular, reusable, and performance-aware
  • Establish and track KPIs for data completeness, freshness, uniqueness, and downstream business usage

What you’ll Need

  • 7+ years of product management experience, ideally building data or ML platforms or leading identity resolution or CDP-type initiatives
  • Strong technical acumen: you can converse comfortably with engineers about architecture, data pipelines, APIs, and event tracking
  • Demonstrated experience designing and shipping products that unlock ML feature engineering or personalization capabilities at scale
  • Working knowledge of probabilistic matching, cookie/device stitching, and geo-IP or cold-start inference approaches
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous problem spaces with many stakeholders and interconnected systems
  • Excellent communication and influence skills — you can align execs, engineers, and analysts alike with a crisp vision and clear priorities
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, experimentation frameworks, and debugging data integrity issues
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or analytical field preferred (e.g., CS, Engineering, Math, or Economics)
