The Head bartender oversees the outlet's bar operations and other bartenders' work to ensure that they provide positive customer experience. He/she ensures the smooth running of the bar. He/she should also be skilled in serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to restaurant and bar patrons. He/she may serve beer and wine, make classic drinks or create new recipes for cocktails.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the bar, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and cash handling.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the bar staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for guests, delivering exceptional customer service and addressing any concerns or complaints.
- Develop and update cocktail menus in collaboration with management, taking into account current trends, customer preferences, and seasonal ingredients.
- Train and educate the bar team on cocktail preparation techniques, product knowledge, and responsible alcohol service.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of alcoholic beverages and adherence to sanitation standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including equipment, glassware, and utensils.
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage stock to minimize wastage and optimize profitability.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, new products, and techniques, and share knowledge with the team.
- Collaborate with the management team to plan and execute special events, promotions, and beverage-related initiatives.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
