Join Amazon Japan's Dynamic Transportation Team!

We're seeking a talented Program Manager to join JP Transportation, the core division driving Amazon Japan's transportation network. In this strategic role, you will conduct iterative simulations in virtual environments using in-house systems to optimize transportation network performance, analyzes and identifies optimal solutions balancing three critical metrics: operational quality, cost efficiency, and delivery speed. This role gives you opportunities to improve analytical and project management skills and to have a lot of chances to drive to build the gigantic Amazon’s supply chain network by yourself.

Sr Project Manager, Trans Supply Program is a strategic role responsible for driving complex, cross-functional programs and initiatives related to Transportation Supply. These programs may include the collaboration with external partners. This position plays a critical role in aligning organizational resources, stakeholders, and processes to achieve strategic objectives. The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of comprehensive program plans, manage risks, and ensure effective communication and collaboration among diverse teams.

Key job responsibilities

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define and align program strategies with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive program plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost optimization, and operational efficiencies.
  • Establish performance metrics and monitoring mechanisms to track program progress and ensure successful execution.

Program Management across the Organization:

  • Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate efforts across multiple departments, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment.
  • Manage complex stakeholder relationships, facilitating effective communication, and ensuring buy-in and support for program initiatives.
  • Oversee the allocation and utilization of resources, including budgets, personnel, and technology, to ensure optimal program delivery.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, escalating issues to senior leadership as necessary, and implementing contingency plans when required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • English: Intermediate (able to attend internal meetings, able to negotiate internally)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale transformation projects
  • Advanced analytical skills including statistical modeling and predictive analytics
  • Demonstrated experience in building and leading large teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in global logistics operations and digital transformation initiatives
  • Advanced certifications (PMP, Six Sigma Black Belt, CSCP)
  • Experience with advanced analytics tools (Python, R, Advanced SQL) and BI platforms
  • Track record of successful P&L management
  • Experience in merger integration or large-scale organizational transformation
