Job Title: Inspector Packer

Job Description

You will be working on the production floor, responsible for inspecting goods for quality. This includes verifying code dates (expiration dates) on packages to ensure they are in the correct format and ensuring packages are properly processed through the metal detector.

Responsibilities

  • Document information in English.
  • Support ongoing maintenance, verification, and updates of the company’s food safety and quality programs to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct daily inspections of production lines and review quality report forms to verify adherence to specifications and food safety protocols.
  • Monitor compliance with the allergen control program and ensure all quality and food safety standards are consistently met.
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation tasks and maintain up-to-date cleaning records.
  • Conduct allergen testing.

  • Knowledge of GMP quality standards.

  • Ability to read and interpret details.
  • Ability to write and communicate in English.
  • Understanding of code dates, production, packing, and quality control.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 1+ years of GMP quality inspection experience required.
  • Ability to speak Spanish.
  • Any food quality inspection experience is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment is clean and has an inviting aroma reminiscent of a coffee and bakery shop. Operate in a GMP setting with mostly gravity-fed high-speed packaging equipment, packaging primarily dry goods such as powders. The facility is well-lit with ample space and plans to expand, possibly adding to the current building.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
