WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Program Specialist II performs moderately complex (journey-level) consultative services and technical assistance work. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:

  • Conduct research, and analysis of Workforce Solutions customer concerns, inquiries, complaints, and issues.
  • Coordinate and conduct customer follow-ups using telephone or electronic mail to ensure the provision of quality customer service.
  • Communicate and /or coordinate with federal and state agencies and other entities to achieve resolution of issues.
  • Involve communication and coordination with multiple partners including the Agency Executive Director and Commissioners and their respective staffs.
  • Coordinate with agency's Customer Relations Department and Civil Rights Division to maximize customer service effectiveness and minimize duplication of effort. Prepares written correspondence for upper management signature as needed.
  • Compile and prepare a monthly complaint or inquiry report, analyzes the complaint report for trends to identify systemic or recurring issues impacting the Workforce System, and relays findings and recommendations to management.
  • May assists job seekers in resetting their labor exchange system passwords.
  • May enter information into the State's case management/labor exchange system.
  • May collaborate in development and uses of research instruments such as questionnaires, surveys, interviews, and observation methods to evaluate customer service.
  • May collaborate with division employees and agency's Training and Development Department in customizing training initiatives designed to improve the quality of customer service.
  • May provide guidance to others.
  • Perform related work as assigned.

YOU QUALIFY WITH:

  • One year of full-time experience in the development, implementation, or interpretation of policies and procedures in a public or private agency.
  • Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.

YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:

  • Knowledge of and/or experience with local, state, and federal laws related to the program area.
  • Experience using statistical analysis processes and research techniques.
  • Experience with word processing and database software
  • Experience with customer service, negotiation and problem resolution.
  • Bilingual in Spanish
