Avionics and Weapons System Integration Engineer

What you’ll be doing:

  • Take part in the organization, planning, and management of new aircraft avionics and mission systems within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to meet program and customer defined requirements.
  • Build, interface, and test multiple computer systems in a modular architecture to meet MOSA, Safety, Security, Environmental, EMI and performance requirements while working in an Agile framework.
  • Create data interfaces for Ethernet, serial and various avionics bus protocols and support throughout the entire software development life cycle from requirements definition to product deployment.
  • Manage Avionics and Mission Systems suppliers via specifications and statements of work. Estimate and manage schedules, budgets, and technology to customer standards.
  • Collaboration with Bell Engineers from other disciplines to include electrical power, flight controls, propulsion, airframe structures, rotors, fuel, hydraulics and drive systems.
  • Work directly on the aircraft to test and verify that avionics systems meet performance requirements when installed.

Qualifications

Skills you bring to this role:

  • Familiarity with electrical schematics and wiring diagrams supporting wiring diagrams and harness creation
  • Aircraft installation, functional testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving system integration/verification issues. Demonstrated ability to lead teams in development, integration, validation, and verification of systems
  • Avionics architecture design experience
  • Ability to prepare aircraft level analysis
  • Familiarity with weapons systems and integration of weapons

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-882 processes and ARP4754A for architecture and systems development and MIL-HDBK-516c / AMACC Requirement interpretation
  • Experience developing and validating requirements.
  • System development and testing in a Systems Integration Lab.
  • Understanding of aircraft and mission safety considerations.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. (Other Engineering degrees with relevant experience will be considered.)
  • We are looking for engineers with at least 2 years or more of experience (more years of experience is a plus) in one or more of the following avionics disciplines: RF communications, data links, navigation, crew station design, displays, open processing environments, aircraft survivability equipment, optical sensors, radar and antenna integration, vehicle management systems, weapons systems or health monitoring systems.
