UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
The LEAP Project (Faith and Traditional Leaders for Ending GBV by Advancing Advocacy, Policy and Social Norms Change in Nigeria and West Africa) is a Ford Foundation-funded initiative. It focuses on engaging traditional and religious leaders as agents of change to challenge harmful social norms and practices that perpetuate gender-based violence (GBV), and to promote community-driven accountability, faith-based advocacy, and system-level prevention responses.
As the project enters its final year, documentation, learning, and knowledge management are critical to capturing evidence of change, disseminating lessons, and sustaining results.
