Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software infrastructure design, designing big systems.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
• Experience with distributed systems, cloud services, and infrastructure configuration.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
• Experience writing code in development languages (e.g., Python or Go).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Drive the long-term technical direction of Chrome developer infrastructure.
• Lead the team in building new features and improving the engineering quality of existing systems.
• Mentor engineers on the team to accelerate their development and our capacity to do great work.
• Build relationships across Chrome, Core, and Platform & Devices Engineering Infrastructure & Operations to develop an understanding of developer pain points and how we can address them.
• Set up software and processes to ensure efficient use of hardware and compute resources.
