This position supports INTEGRIS Health by overseeing and managing capital healthcare construction projects from inception to completion while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and fully compliant with regulatory requirements. This position requires exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills to effectively coordinate with stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams. Managing all phases of construction projects, including initiation, design, budgeting, construction, safety/compliance, and closeout. Beyond technical expertise, strong interpersonal skills, effective problem-solving abilities, and the capability to cultivate positive relationships with diverse stakeholders internally and externally.

Responsibilities

The Project Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage and oversee multiple healthcare construction projects concurrently, ranging in size and complexity.
  • Develop project scopes and objectives and ensure alignment with organizational goals and client expectations.
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation phases.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure design and construction align with healthcare industry standards and regulations.
  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and manage scope, schedule, and budget changes.
  • Implement and enforce project safety and quality assurance standards.
  • Review and approve project expenditures, budgets, and contracts.
  • Prepare regular status reports and communicate project updates to stakeholders, executive management, and client representatives.
  • Manage project risks and issues and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment within the project team.
  • Works independently on projects with higher risk and complexity and provides guidance and oversight to junior staff and outside consultants.
  • Routinely supervises and oversees the work of other team staff on specific projects, providing guidance, leadership, and support.
  • Serves as departmental representative (alone or with departmental colleagues) for committees of affiliates when directed.
  • Participates in developing standard work practices as part of internal committees.
  • Work as a mentor of departmental interns and will serve as a guide to PMs as a continuation of leadership development.
  • Provides direction and oversight to the work of third-party project manager firms as directed.
  • Interacts Independently with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) who permit, inspect, and approve project work to resolve discrepancies.
  • Review program requirements and scope with Client Representatives & Users.

Project Initiation:

  • Implement Economic Inclusion goals for each project.
  • Develop project milestone schedule.
  • Prepares and manages Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for various project aspects.
  • Receives, tabulates, and analyzes bids and proposals.
  • Reviews and recommendations for awards with client representatives.
  • Prepare contracts and purchase orders for project vendors.
  • Establishes project deliverable requirements.

Project Design:

  • Coordinates internal and external project reviews.
  • Ensures adherence to PD&C policies, procedures, and project management standards.
  • Promotes sustainable practices in project delivery.
  • Reviews project design for compliance with standards and client requirements.
  • Manages project design to meet budget and schedule.
  • Monitors project deliverables and Economic Inclusion work plans.
  • Provides risk assessment regarding budget and schedule.

Project Budget:

  • Establishes, maintains, and monitors project budget.
  • Provide cash flow projections as required.
  • Reviews and approves project invoices, change events, and change orders.
  • Manages budget forecasts and contingency.
  • Reviews and approves project insurance certificates.

Project Construction:

  • Coordinates project logistics and outage requirements.
  • Ensures adherence to policies, procedures, and PD&C standards.
  • Monitors project construction for compliance with standards and client requirements.
  • Manages project construction to meet budget and schedule.
  • Reviews project status and provides risk assessment.
  • Manages procurements (furniture, equipment, etc.).
  • Review RFIs and submittals for compliance.

Communication:

  • Possesses strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, service providers, vendors, and clients.
  • Updates INTEGRIS Health stakeholders on project planning and progress.
  • Establishes collaborative and consensus-based problem-solving.

Decision Making:

  • Makes project decisions based on department standards.
  • Consult with direct leadership on potential issues.
  • Provides day-to-day project management with limited supervision.

Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of design and construction practices.
  • Experience in various building types, systems, and delivery methods.
  • Strategic planning and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and PDF mark-up software; familiarity with AutoCAD and BIM.

Occasional exposure to variations in temperature, noise, various building materials and systems, mechanical, electrical, fume/odor, chemical toxic waste, and wet hazards. Qualifications

  • No Degree: 11-13 years' experience Health Care Design/Construction
  • Associate’s degree: 9-11 years' experience Health Care Design/Construction
  • Bachelor’s Degree: 8-10 years' experience Health Care Design/Construction
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in healthcare construction project management, with a proven track record of managing complex projects.
  • Experience with various construction delivery methods (e.g., Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, CM at Risk).
  • Strong healthcare facility design, construction methodologies, and building systems knowledge.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP) preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
