Create impact as an Operational Risk & Assurance Manager.

Your Role

Joining NRMA Insurance, you’ll be leading operational risk management within the Retail Insurance Distribution business units. You’ll drive strategic initiatives to identify, assess, and manage operational risks in collaboration with business owners, ensuring the successful implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF). As the leader of a high-performing team, you’ll oversee risk profiling, assessments, compliance obligations, and control management, providing consistent risk management practices across the Division.

In this capacity, you’ll work closely with the Executive Manager, Operational Risk, and internal teams to continuously improve operational risk maturity. You’ll support the development and implementation of the Quality Assurance Framework, driving improvement across key operational areas and ensuring high performance standards. Your leadership will empower the team to efficiently execute risk management services and align with the broader divisional risk framework.

Collaboration is key to this role, as you’ll interact with various operational risk teams and business units to ensure the effective identification and management of emerging risks. You will also foster a culture of safety, wellbeing, and continuous learning within your team, demonstrating leadership aligned with IAG’s principles of Closer, Braver, Faster. Your role will significantly contribute to shaping the strategic direction and risk maturity of NRMA Insurance business units.

About You

• 5+ years’ experience in risk management, compliance, or project management within a large corporate environment.
• Extensive knowledge of risk management frameworks and risk-based reviews, assessments, and control management.
• Proven experience in program governance, project management, and leading high-performance teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence across all levels of the business.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with advanced skills in data analysis and reporting.
• Tertiary level qualifications in a relevant discipline (mandatory).
