As a Enabling Platforms team we hold full accountability for the build and run functions for a spectrum of enabler platforms that provide vital support to Singtel Singapore. We take the lead in driving application technology standards, simplification, fostering cohesion among systems and promoting reusability. Enabling Platform mandate also extends to managing critical aspects of application infrastructure, such as on-premise, containers, Developer tools and Data platforms. We play a fundamental role in ensuring the continued efficiency, innovation and robustness of our technology ecosystem.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Developer Platform Engineer to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our platform engineering efforts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Developer Platform engineering as a product, with the ability to adapt to changing tools and technologies.

Make An Impact By

• Operate and troubleshoot complex live systems serving 1500+ customers. You will be responsible for maintaining the stability and performance of the Developer Platform, ensuring that it meets the needs of our users, at the lowest total cost of ownership. You’ll restore service quickly in an incident, analyse to root cause, write post-mortems, and follow up with system improvements.
• Collaborate closely and regularly with internal DevOps, infrastructure, and other platform teams, in addition to enabling application developers. Effective communication and teamwork are essential to align with the goals and requirements of various departments .
• Develop high quality platform software components and self-service operations. Apply GitOps principles leveraging kubernetes controllers and cloud-native technologies. You will design, implement, and maintain software components that enhance the functionality and efficiency of our platform.
• Automate repetitive tasks, optimize processes and perform thorough testing to ensure quality.

Skills for Success:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Infrastructure Engineering.
• Examples of applied knowledge solving problems in AWS VPC, IaaS, or EKS.
• Strong experience developing fast and reliable Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) workflows used by hundreds of application teams.
• Experience migration data and systems between public clouds or between IaaS and PaaS.
• Experience operating and supporting applications on IaaS, Managed Kubernetes service (EKS, AKS, OCP).
• Demonstrated experience in one or more programming languages – Golang / Java / Python.
• Demonstrated experience in configuration management/ Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools – AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Ansible/Puppet.
• Willing and able to support systems on call support rota off hours.
• Experience using and configuring observability e.g. ELK, Prometheus, AWS CloudWatch, Grafana, Jaeger, & OpenTelemetry.
• Good to have:
  • Professional Certifications in AWS Networks, CNCF Technologies or Kubernetes.
  • Experience developing pipelines as code for one or more of Bamboo, Jenkins, Argo Workflows, or Github Actions.
  • Applied GitOps principles using ArgoCD, Flux or other Gitops Controller.
  • Cloud Engineering on Hybrid multi-clouds using Terraform, Crossplane, AWS CDK
  • Network troubleshooting skills using AWS services, Linux tools or packet capture tools
