RECRUITMENT COORDINATOR – PT (TEMPORARY)

Daley College 

City Colleges of Chicago (CCC), the largest community college system in Illinois, is made up of seven colleges and five satellite sites, providing more than 70,000 students each year access to a quality, affordable education.

Daley College’s one-year Workforce Equity Initiative Grant from the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) funds a project aimed at providing students with training, credentials and support services and find job entry into manufacturing careers. Industry certificates as well as Basic Certificates in Computer Numerical Control (CNC), Welding and Maintenance will be earned through this program. 

This is a grant funded temporary position with the length of assignment expectation of July 2021 - March 2022

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Management , the RECRUITMENT/OUTREACH POSITION performs a combination of outreach and recruitment duties to promote Daley College’s certificate programs leading to careers in the manufacturing industry, and to recruit candidates from targeted populations to enroll in programs funded by the grant, including the Weekend Warrior Program. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

  • Conducts outreach activities, representing Daley College in targeted community areas and with targeted populations, providing a strong community presence and connecting with resident to provide information on the availability of grant funded training opportunities in manufacturing. 
  • Recruits potential candidates, working closely with identified targeted populations to provide information on the availability of programs, financial aid and related support services. Refers and links candidates with appropriate college staff for additional assistance as needed. 
  • Contacts and meets one-on-one with prospective students to answer questions and provide information on program eligibility, admission requirement and general expectations. Assists potential students with the online application process and enrollment as needed. 
  • Maintains contact with prospective students to keep them informed of application status and to ensure a seamless transition from application through enrollment and registration process. 
  • Work with community-based organizations to initiate, plan and organize outreach and recruitment activities to attract candidates from targeted populations. 
  • Schedules and coordinates outreach events to provide presentations; prepares and maintains a calendar and schedule of activities and events. 
  • Coordinates with appropriate departments including Marketing and Enrollment in preparing and distributing informational materials to promote grant funded initiatives through social media and other communication platforms. 
  • Creates and maintains records to track outreach/event activities and attendance; prepares reports on performance measures on success in enrolling students from targeted populations into grant funded programs. 
  • Travels to community areas surrounding Daley college and throughout the Districts as required. 
  • Required to work some evening and weekends to attend community events. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • One to two years of work experience in student services, preferably in admissions, recruitment or outreach for academic or technical training programs
  • Excellent oral communication and presentation/public speaking skills
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Must be able and willing to travel to assigned community areas surrounding Daley College and throughout the District
  • Must be able and willing to work some evenings and weekends as required
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint)
