Position Summary

We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer (f/m/d) with solid expertise in real-time programming and control system design to join our team developing the next generation of high-precision rotational rheometers.

In this key role, you will design and implement the embedded software architecture for a multiprocessor platform, based on ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers and TI C2000 real-time processors.

Your work will enable precise torque control in the sub-µNm range, high-resolution force measurement, and accurate position feedback – crucial capabilities for our systems used in leading scientific and industrial applications worldwide.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop real-time embedded software for ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers and TI C2000 real-time processors
  • Design and optimize control algorithms for PMSM and asynchronous motors to enable ultra-precise torque control
  • Integrate and process sensor data for axial force sensing and rotary encoder systems
  • Develop and maintain drivers, middleware, and communication interfaces (e.g., SPI, I²C, UART)
  • Configure and integrate real-time operating systems (RTOS)
  • Perform system testing, solving, and performance tuning in a lab environment
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, mechanical, and application engineering teams to ensure overall system integrity
  • Document software architecture, interfaces, and configurations in accordance with the development process

Your Profile

  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in embedded software development with a focus on real-time control systems
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ and experience with development toolchains for ARM Cortex-M and TI C2000 platforms
  • Hands-on experience with RTOS integration, interrupt handling, and resource-efficient programming
  • Solid understanding of control engineering, motor drive systems, sensor interfaces, and signal processing
  • Familiarity with modern development processes, debugging techniques, and software testing methodologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English

Your Strengths

  • Strong systems thinking and a high level of personal responsibility
  • Structured and diligent working style in a multifaceted R&D environment
  • Passion for embedded technologies and multi-functional collaboration
  • High standards for quality and a desire for continuous improvement

What we offer:

  • Employment with an innovative, future-oriented organization
  • Outstanding career and development prospects
  • Company pension scheme and other fringe benefits
