Here’s the Gist 

As the Wolfspeed Power Die Products Device Engineer, you will work closely with RnD, Product definition, and Application teams to develop Silicon Carbide (SiC) power MOSFETs and Schottky Diodes for 650V to 3.3kV to support the automotive and industrial markets. Specifically, you will be responsible for device modeling (for different generations of technology) and mask layout design for SiC power die products. You will interface with the fab operations team to demonstrate device/process capability and limits to ensure cost-effective, manufacturable, and highly reliable designs. The selected candidate will receive on-the-job training to become proficient in these areas. 

The Day-to-Day : 

  • Adopt and/or create EDA tools that automate the generation of new device layout and physical design verification. 
  • Troubleshooting layout design issues and applying proactive intervention. 
  • Work closely with design engineers to ensure proper device performance 
  • Work with the test and foundry team to design manufacturing consistent layouts. 
  • Provide design support, as needed, for yield, quality, reliability, and performance issues on released products. 
  • Interface with key customers on tradeoff analysis during the request for quotation (RFQ) and product definition phase. 
  • Provide feedback to process development and Technology Development R&D teams on future roadmap capabilities. 

This Job is Right for You if You Have: 

  • 2 years of semiconductor experience, preferably in power devices. Master’s degree in electrical engineering background preferred. 
  • Preferred to have experience with Cadence Virtuoso (Layout and Schematic), Klayout. 
  • Working knowledge of statistical scripts and software like MySQL, JMP. 
  • Familiarity or willing to learn scripting and automation TCL, SKILL, Perl, Python and SHELL scripts in Linux environment. 
  • Strong organizational, teamwork, communication, and technical skills. 
  • Self-starter who able to work with others effectively and drive process improvements across the organization. 
  • Ability to clearly and simply explain complex design or device concepts to customers and high-level managers.
