Afternoon Shift
Forklift Operator
Food Manufacturing company in Fairfield, is seeking an Afternoon shift Forklift Operator. The Ideal candidate will be comfortable in a cold environment, and able to successfully operate a Stand-Up Forklift.
Essential Job Functions
Order Management:
- Pull, package, and stage orders for pickup/shipping accurately and efficiently.
- Receive goods in the ERP system accurately and efficiently.
- Complete shipping and receiving documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Perform cycle and inventory counts on all goods.
- Organize stock and maintain inventory.
Loading and Unloading:
- Safely load and unload trucks accurately and efficiently.
- Inspect goods for defects and damages.
- Label and tag all pallets of goods.
Warehouse Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment to maximize space.
- Ensure finished products meet or exceed all regulatory, industry, and customer requirements for food safety and quality.
- Maintain all GFSI, HACCP, and food defense systems.
- Rotate goods following the FEFO-FIFO process (inventory storage and distribution practice).
Support and Compliance:
- Pull and stage packaging and ingredients for production lines (pre-staging).
- Notify supervisors of any issues or problems.
- Comply with all OSHA and company safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and write basic English.
- Basic math skills.
- Willingness and ability to be certified as a forklift operator.
Preferred:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- 1+ years of forklift experience.
- 1+ years of experience in a food manufacturing plant.
