Associate Development Scientist

Contributes to mAb and Cell Therapy development projects, from laboratory to commercial manufacturing, with abilities to execute complex experiments follow limited instructions

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Associate Development Scientist, are to:

  • Under limited guidance, designs and conducts moderate to complex process development experiments and performs tasks which require the application of specialized scientific and unit operation technique, including cell therapy and mAb process development, for both early and late stage programs;
  • Completes required GMP training; follows GMP during clinical manufacturing;
  • Analyzes experiments, assays, or procedures; interprets results;
  • Evaluates new methods, techniques and assays as required; recommends revised procedures for new or unique applications;
  • Troubleshoots failed experiments, assays, or procedures;
  • Provides guidance to other lower level personnel;
  • Presents project reports in a public forum;
  • Prepares reports of an analytical and interpretative nature;
  • Attends and participates in regularly scheduled meetings;
  • Keeps abreast of current technology within field of specialty;
  • Collects and compiles data and records in laboratory notebook; ensures that laboratory notebooks are consistently updated, audited and well-maintained.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Basic understanding of process development and good manufacturing practices (GMP);
  • Demonstrated ability to independently design and execute experiments;
  • Ability to solve routine scientific problems requiring original thinking and deductive reasoning;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including technical reports and presentations at departmental meeting

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $77,000-$110,000 Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
