Job Duties:

  • Coordinates and monitors multiple IT projects from initiation through delivery.
  • Serves as the liaison between IT and the business line customer to ensure that all targets and deliverables are met.
  • Develops project plans and cost estimates.
  • Handles cross-project interdependencies in order to avoid potential impacts and identify optimizations in regard to scope, schedule, budget, and resource utilization.
  • Reviews data on complex issues, makes good business decisions, and ensures solutions are implemented.
  • Ensures all project deliverables meet the customer’s time/quality/cost expectations.
  • Manages and provides oversight and direction to allocated project team members to ensure quality and timely delivery of project requirements.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • 2-5 years of related project management experience in systems development, application development and implementation or the equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, engineering or an equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Ideally IT experience supporting the scientific industry

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Understanding of the key principles of cross functional project management (ex: Time, Quality, Cost)
  • Agile Scrum experience highly desirable
  • Excellent financial competence.
  • Solid track record of excellent project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization and collaboratively. Critical thinker with solid judgment and strong initiative.
  • Proficiency in collaboration across multiple and diverse groups
  • Strong experience with managing projects through all aspects of a project life cycle
  • Ability to delegate, effectively prioritizes own and project team members workload
  • Ability to effectively use automated systems and computerized applications such as Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, JIRA, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, time management and organizational skills
  • Experience managing geographically distributed teams highly desired.
  • PMP and/or Agile Certification highly desired
