DESCRIPTION
Are you passionate about driving operational excellence at scale while working directly with senior leadership? We are seeking an exceptional PMO Manager to serve as a strategic partner to the Director of Amazon Transportation Services Mexico, overseeing our Middle Mile operations, US-Mexico cross-border transportation, 3P Carriers, and Sort Centers.
This high-visibility role offers unique exposure to Amazon's transportation network operations in one of our most dynamic markets. As the strategic right hand to the Director, you will drive clarity, alignment, and execution across multiple business units while helping shape the future of Amazon's transportation network in Mexico.
Key job responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Rhythm:
- Drive the organization's rhythm of business, including leadership forums, QBRs, and strategic planning cycles.
- Author and socialize strategic narratives that articulate Transportation's vision, mission, and operating model.
- Represent Mexico Transportation in worldwide leadership forums, translating global insights into local action plans.
- Act as a thought partner to the Director in strategic decision-making and trade-off conversations.
Program Management Excellence:
- Lead end-to-end program management for critical transportation initiatives across Mexico.
- Establish and maintain scalable mechanisms for cross-functional alignment and decision-making.
- Drive operational excellence through standardized interactions between support and operations teams.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex challenges spanning multiple teams and domains.
Performance & Analytics:
- Design and implement comprehensive performance measurement systems.
- Create data-driven narratives for senior leadership reviews.
- Develop and maintain KPI dashboards for cross-border operations.
- Lead analytical deep-dives to identify improvement opportunities.
Stakeholder Management & Communication:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across US, Mexico and ROW operations.
- Coach leaders on implementing scalable operating mechanisms.
- Create effective communication channels between operations, technology, and business teams.
- Facilitate cross-functional program reviews and resolution paths.
A day in the life
No two days are the same in this role. You may begin the day with a 1:1 with the Director to align on key decisions, followed by preparing for a regional leadership call where you'll represent progress on strategic programs. Later in the day, you may lead a cross-functional sync to unblock a major initiative, coach a new business leader on how to scale their operating mechanisms, or connect with your counterparts in WW teams to bring global best practices into the region.You will constantly toggle between strategic thinking and detailed execution, balancing urgent issues with long-term planning — all while learning from some of Amazon’s most senior and experienced leaders.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelors Degree
- 2+ years of experience working directly with senior leadership and driving executive-level communication
- Experience building business mechanisms and program operating models from the ground up
- Strong written communication skills, including experience writing briefing documents and strategic narratives
- Fluency in English and Spanish
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- Familiarity with Amazon business units or similar large-scale operational and support environments
- Experience creating alignment among distributed teams and driving toward shared outcomes
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
