Maintenance Controller

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Controller to supervise, co-ordinate and execute planned and/or unscheduled maintenance work within designated areas.

Reporting to the Engineer: Plant, you will:

• Liaise with supervisors to identify maintenance and service needs and coordinate general maintenance work toward ensuring production targets are met.
• Perform fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of the Superintendent .
• Source potential new suppliers to ensure that the most efficient products are used.
• Supervise and control the activities, standards of performance and behavior of staff to ensure that the correct procedures are followed.
• Maintain and improve safety, health and environmental standards and practices.
• Administer maintenance-related data, documentation and records on SAP (time-keeping, purchase requisitions, stores orders etc).
• Prepare, control and maintain section budget by forecasting operating costs.
• Maintain and improve safety, health and environmental standards and practices.

About you

• Matric (with Core Maths & Physical Science) / N3 /N5 Engineering Qualification (Advantageous)
• Trade Test
• South African Driver’s License
• Supervisor Role experience for at least 3 Years
• Supervisory- and/or Safety training (advantageous)
• 5 year’s heavy / mining industry / Maintenance Planning Systems experience
• General knowledge of plant-related equipment.
• Mechanically / Electrically – minded
