Responsibilities:

Position: Assistance Manager - Pricing

To source for the best possible cost from Carriers so that we can provide our Sales’ organization with competitive pricing to win more businesses for BDP for Ocean Product ( Import & Export). Building good repo with Carriers / NVOCC and developing relationship to get the best rates.

Job specifications

  1. Tender Bids / Named Accounts / Regular Rate Requests
  • Liaise with BDP Regional tender team on the tender bids received on the strategies involved.
  • Work with local carriers on the tender bid/NAC/rate request(s) if required.
  • Liaise with relationship holder(s) and carrier(s) for Named Accounts received directly via mail.
  • Provide recommended selling costs to relationship holder(s)
  • Follow up on Rate Requests with Lost Reason “Rates too high.”
  • Uploading Rates from Carrier into our local system to have more visibility or rates options.
  • Working with Core carriers and moving high volumes with them
  • Assisting Sales Team in given the best and the lowest rates to get new customers onboard.
  • In case of requirement, meeting customers and giving them best possible solutions and getting them onboard.
  1. Mediator between TRAC/GSC and Pricing teams
  • Monitor the accuracy of the contract uploaded by GSC
  • Provide advice/verification to GSC if required
  1. Market Updates
  • Perform analysis on market trend to regional procurement team
  • Send market updates from carriers to Sales team if required
  • Trend export rates for means to forecast for longer validity
  1. Liaise with Internal Stakeholders
  • Work with APAC, North America and Europe regional procurement and pricing teams to put forward the best pricing solutions for each and new business opportunity.
  • Offer rates, alternative solution(s) and working towards problem solving approach
  • Identify doubts and bridge differences on understanding and expectation(s)
  • Provide timely response to enquiries
  • Provide verifications on charges and rate discrepancies
  • Request regional support for alternative solutions
  • To intervene in operational issues whenever required
  1. Liaise with External Stakeholders
  • Liaise with carriers to resolve operational issues including but not limited to rate disputes, space requests and etc.
  • Request for rates for Tender Bids/NACs/Requests with target rates
  • Request for monthly lifting report, if not already provided for by carrier(s)
  1. Report Analysis
  • Tally lifting reports between Cyberlog and carriers’ lifting
  • Provide carriers with volume forecasts for NACs
  • Analyze lifting reports for NACs and the forecast provided earlier
  1. Any other tasks assigned

Job Requirements

Academic Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of relevant experience from freight forwarding pricing domain
  • Good communication, Interpersonal skills.

Knowledge/ Skills

  • Result oriented and target driven professional.
  • Strong problem-solving and out of box thinking skills. 
  • Adaptability and go getter attitude. 
  • Good Interpersonal skills and Good Analytical bent of mind.
  • Good communication and Presentation skills.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office.
