eXtra performance WING, is an Airbus UpNext flying demonstrator, implementing disruptive wing technologies and focusing on wing performance.
Our objective is to demonstrate outstanding extra performance by flying a remote controlled business jet, with world class aircraft domain of flight and get the key knowledge from a remote controlled, heavily instrumented demonstrator.
The opportunity of a Remote Control, UAS Test Engineer Ground and Flight
has risen within the TESTING TEAM of the eXtra performance WING.
This job comes with a 1 year and a half year CDI-C contract tied to the demonstrator' deliverable - end of December 2026) and is based in Cazaux (Gironde - 33 FRANCE) where the ground and flight tests will take place in 2025 and 2026 with regular traveling to Toulouse UpNext offices.
Missions
As part of the project, the A/C platform is converted into an UAS (Unmanned Aerial System) having at the core a remotely piloted aircraft, controlled by a crew located on a ground control station.
You will work within the Testing Team and in close co-working activity with the flight crew.
As an extension of the crew, your mission will be to perform integration ground tests, operational tests procedures validation and integrated tests for the Remote Control system perimeter (comprising a ground control station and an air/ground communication system).
Depending on your skills and crew decision you could be onboarded by the crew to support and assist flight tests.
This will be an incredible experience for you, you will develop testing skills (on ground and in flight), to take part to developing disruptive technologies by acting during the most exciting part of the program, which is testing and operating of the aircraft!
The overall integration of the systems with the A/C will take place in S2 2025 and Q1 2026 on ground before the flight tests. Your responsibilities within this perimeter will be:
