The Field Service Representative position will represent PW to the USAF Thunderbirds and the F-15E/F-16 units at Nellis AFB, NV.

Provide leadership and support to resolve technical and logistical issues involving the customer’s F100 engine Organizational and Intermediate levels of operation and maintenance. Interpret applicable specifications, processes, methods, procedures, technical order work packages, and other information related to maintenance and operation tasks. Required to use self-initiative and judgment to identify problems, conduct thorough investigations to determine root causes, generate recurring reports on all engine related activities, and coordinate solutions between PW Program Managers and Customer Support Engineers. Use technical and teaming skills to ensure customer Fleet Readiness Excellence. Maintain a sound business relationship with the customer at the base ensuring customer satisfaction. Working knowledge of organizational and intermediate level maintenance, operation and troubleshooting.

What You Will Do

  • Provide on-the-job training to all maintenance personnel covering all phase of maintenance and operation, operational checkout, system analysis, and system/subsystem replacement/ adjustment/ services pertinent to the F-15 and F-16 aircraft F100-PW-220/-229 engines and ancillary test equipment.
  • Identify and provide instructions in the operation and use of material handling equipment and special tools associated with and related to the equipment systems.
  • Assist in analysis of maintenance difficulties and in establishing maintenance and inspection procedures to improve the quality of maintenance.
  • Provide guidance to Thunderbird pilots on peculiarities and characteristics of the F-16 aircraft F100-PW-229 engines.
  • Provide technical assistance in the interpretation of USAF technical orders, manuals, engineering drawings, and schematics which pertain to the F-15 and F-16 aircraft F100-PW-220 and -229 engines.
  • The rep will be traveling to Air Show sites frequently during the show season (mid-March to mid-November). The rep will represent PW and RTX at various public relations events at show sites.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • BS/BA with 8 years of Engineering or equivalent technical/field support experience in propulsion experience or an advance degree with 5 years of Engineering or equivalent technical/field support experience in propulsion or 12 years experience "in lieu of degree"
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • 3+ years of experience with the F100 engine / aircraft propulsion systems and components
  • The position will have up to 60% travel required and will depend on base needs. Periodic work during extended hours and weekends is anticipated.

  • Active Security Clearance
  • Possess a high degree of tact, diplomacy, and the ability to work and cooperate harmoniously with military and civilian personnel.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently, without technical guidance and supervision. Possess a thorough practical and theoretical knowledge of the F100 engine with emphasis on maintenance, use of test equipment and integration of individual assemblies/ components into the overall system.
  • 3+ years of experience with the F100-PW-229 engine / aircraft propulsion systems and components

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
