Introduction

ASML, the largest supplier for photolithography systems in the semiconductor industry, provides machines to chipmakers to enable mass production of chips on silicon wafers. ASML’s core strength is the lithography technology itself, while the building of the chipmakers is merely an assembly of parts provided by suppliers.

Metrology & Patterning Control (MPC) drives improved scanner control and patterning performance via its optical overlay metrology roadmap (Yield Star), as well as its scanner optimizer and software control products.

Overlay margins are ever shrinking driving increasing demand for fast and accurate metrology solutions. MPC is focused on delivering cost efficient metrology and control solutions that help customers to optimize scanner performance and in doing so maximize yield.

MPC’s range of products meet chipmaker’s unique measurement requirements at distinct phases – spanning alignment, overlay and focus to increasingly overall imaging performance and Edge Placement that requires an enhanced view of local errors.

Your assignment

The purpose of this internship is to create one generic fully automated KPI report using Artificial Intelligence. The reports are by all sectors in ASML (Customer Support, Marketing, Manufacturing, Program and D&E). Your main goal will be to identify automation opportunities with the current KPIs that makes data analysis easier and faster. You will collaborate with a team of quality managers and engineers working in the MPC D&E department.

Your assignment will focus on:

• Create one report.
• Single data source.
• Applying Artificial Intelligence to categorize (bucket) as per requested search criteria.
• Present findings and document your progress.

Your profile

To be a match for this internship you:

• Are a master student Software engineering, Computer Science, Data analytics or AI looking for an apprentice or graduation internship.
• Have knowledge of PowerBI, C#, Visual Studio, XML, HTTP.
• Have knowledge about artificial intelligence engines and knowledge of applications and the ability to apply on large data sets.
• Are a proactive person with a can-do mindset and strong stakeholder management skills.
• Have strong communication and stakeholder management skills and are fluent in English (verbal and written).

This is a master apprentice/graduation internship for a minimum of 6 months, for 4 to 5 days per week (at least 3 days onsite). The start date of this internship is September 2025.

Other requirements you need to meet

• You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
• You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate;
• If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
