Job Title:

Program Controls Analyst - Energy

Company:

Prologis

A day in the life

As a Project Controls Analyst on the Global Energy team, you'll play a key role in driving project visibility, accountability, and performance across a fast-paced portfolio of renewable energy projects—including solar, storage, and EV charging infrastructure. Your day will involve partnering with project managers, finance, and systems teams to ensure schedules, costs, and operational metrics are accurate, timely, and actionable.

You’ll design and manage dashboards in tools like Power BI or Tableau to translate complex data into clear insights for leadership and project teams. You'll regularly support process improvement initiatives - whether by refining cost tracking methods, enhancing reporting automation, or standardizing handoff protocols.

In this role, success requires a self-starter mindset, strong curiosity, and the ability to bring clarity to ambiguity. You’ll be instrumental in scaling systems and workflows as the energy program grows, helping ensure that Prologis continues to lead with operational excellence and industry innovation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain project schedule templates, milestone trackers, and baseline performance plans in collaboration with Project Management leadership.
  • Monitor project progress and key performance indicators (KPIs); support forecasting, risk assessment, and schedule mitigation strategies.
  • Establish and track operational benchmarks, including schedule adherence, revenue realization, tax benefits, and other portfolio metrics.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze data across execution, energy, and financial systems to support project and portfolio-level decision-making.
  • Create, manage, and continuously improve standardized and custom reports and dashboards for both project teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with IT and business intelligence teams to enhance self-service reporting capabilities and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and usability.
  • Conduct financial and cost analysis, including transaction validation, budget tracking, variance analysis, and spend forecasting; support monthly reviews and long-term cash flow planning.
  • Align closely with Project Finance to ensure consistency in forecasting and performance tracking across the project portfolio.
  • Optimize tools and systems used for project controls and reporting (e.g., SiteTracker, Salesforce, Sigma, Tableau, PeopleSoft), identifying integration opportunities and performance gaps.
  • Conduct market and industry research to inform pricing strategies and business model refinements.
  • Engage proactively with internal stakeholders to identify functional needs, process gaps, and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Building blocks for success

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of direct experience in project controls, cost/schedule analysis, or construction finance, ideally within the energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and construction management tools such as Procore
  • Understanding of project cost control workflows and Earned Value Management (EVM) principles
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to interpret complex datasets and translate findings into clear, actionable insights
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and present complex information to cross-functional audiences
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting process improvement initiatives within project controls or project operations
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while fostering collaboration across internal and external stakeholders

Preferred:

  • Experience creating data dashboards or visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools
  • Familiarity with renewable energy project development, including solar, storage, or utility interconnection processes
  • Self-starter mindset with strong intellectual curiosity and comfort solving problems in undefined or evolving environments
  • Professional demeanor with experience supporting fast-paced, high-performing teams or scaling systems for growth

Hiring Salary Range of: $80,000 - $121,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
