What to Expect

The Sr. Manager, Integration and Middleware Platform is responsible for leading, architecting, and managing enterprise integration strategies, ensuring seamless communication and data exchange across diverse applications and platforms both on-prem and cloud and oversee a team of Integration Architects and Middleware Operations professionals, driving the long-term integration architecture, real-time communication frameworks, and API connectivity for SaaS and cloud/on-prem environments fostering growth and innovation. This role will drive modernization and scalability of enterprise integration supporting digital transformation, operational efficiency and business agility to ensure efficient, scalable, and secure data flow between applications, enabling a modernized enterprise integration ecosystem.

What You Will Do

1. Integration Strategy & Architecture Leadership:

  • Define and execute the long-term integration and middleware architecture, fostering innovation and efficiency.
  • Architect real-time application communication frameworks, supporting event-driven architecture and API-first design principles.
  • Drive the adoption of modern integration patterns, including microservices, event streaming, and API-based data exchange.
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability in integration solutions supporting cloud and on-prem applications.
  • Lead the strategic integration roadmap, optimizing cross-system connectivity with SaaS applications and hybrid environments.
  • Lead and strategize success measurements for integrations such as reduced API response times (<300ms), successful batch processing (98%+), 100% adoption of oauth2 including internal APIs, <10% reprocessing due to data quality issues.

2. Middleware & API Management:

  • Oversee Mashery API Gateway implementation, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performance API integrations through effective governing mechanisms such as API Rate limiting, throttling, caching etc.
  • Develop middleware-driven enterprise connectivity using TIBCO Integration and advanced workflow automation tools.
  • Implement event-driven architecture such as pub-sub or streaming (e.g. Kafka) and oversee secure service registry and API catalog management.
  • Lead modernization of legacy interfaces into modern APIs or streaming services.
  • Manage API lifecycle governance, ensuring version control, monitoring, and security compliance.
  • Lead the standardization of API frameworks, optimizing data exchange across internal and external applications.
  • Implement authentication and security protocols (OAuth, zero-trust architectures) for robust API protection.
  • Ensure efficient application deployment, management, and configuration within Oracle WebLogic, supporting enterprise application architecture.

3. Batch Processing & ETL Optimization:

  • Manage Control-M Batching workflows, ensuring automation and scheduling efficiency.
  • Optimize ETL processes with Informatica, ensuring high-performance data transformation and loading strategies.
  • Enhance data processing pipelines, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and scalability for enterprise analytics.
  • Implement self-healing automation workflows, leveraging AI-driven insights for proactive issue resolution.

4. Cloud & Hybrid Integration:

  • Design hybrid cloud integration architectures, enabling seamless interaction between on-prem and cloud applications.
  • Ensure interoperability across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI environments with robust integration solutions.
  • Lead containerized integration implementations, leveraging Kubernetes, Rancher, and service mesh technologies.
  • Strengthen data exchange efficiencies through API-driven SaaS integrations and enterprise connectivity frameworks.
  • Drive governance for hybrid deployments including latency monitoring and failover patterns.

5. Collaboration & Operational Excellence:

  • Manage and mentor a team of Integration Architects and Middleware Operations specialists, fostering growth and innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of integration strategies with business objectives.
  • Lead incident response and performance tuning efforts, ensuring optimal middleware operations.
  • Drive cost optimization and budget efficiency for integration platforms, ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Establish governance, compliance, and security best practices across integration environments.

6. Lead, mentor, and develop team members by providing direction, performance feedback, and support to ensure effective collaboration, professional growth, and achievement of organizational and personal goals.

Qualifications

What You Will Bring

  • Minimum 8 years in enterprise integration, middleware operations, and API architecture.
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Proven expertise in TIBCO Integration, Mashery API Gateway, Control-M Batching, Informatica ETL, and Oracle WebLogic.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certificate in TIBCO, Mashery, Oracle WebLogic, Informatica, or Control-M is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:

o Strong experience in cloud and hybrid integration strategies (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI).

o Proven success in real-time communication architecture and event-driven integration.

o Deep understanding of API management, authentication security, and data transformation processes.

o Experience in Kubernetes, Rancher, and service mesh technologies for integration.

o Leadership experience managing integration architects and middleware operations teams.

o Knowledge of AIOps-driven automation for integration monitoring and optimization.

o Familiarity with serverless integration models and edge computing architectures.

  • Leadership & Soft Skills:

o Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with a track record of mentoring high-performing teams.

o Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.

o Ability to translate technical concepts into business value for senior leadership.

Work Environment

Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking, and using a computer. Work is performed in an office environment.

The posted salary range for this job takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. Successful candidates may be hired anywhere in the salary range based on these factors. It is uncommon to hire candidates at or near the top of the range.
