Job Summary:
Technical specialist and primary customer support contact to diagnose and execute complex repairs to generators and components at the customer’s site.
We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in (Kapolei, HI)

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Completing repair activities on generators or components
- Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of service
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools
External Qualifications and Competencies
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
- High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
- Advanced experience with electrical repair and maintenance
- Proficient Diesel Engine experience.
- Advanced troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.
- Setup, troubleshoot and repair basic paralleling generator systems.
- Understanding switchgear schematics.
- Ability to train Entry/Intermediate Technicians/Mechanics.
Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position
Technician Position will require cross functional work PG/ EV/ Engine. Travel occasionally to neighbor islands.
ASE T2 diesel technician certification & state mechanics license will need to be obtained within 90 days of hire.

- Area of coverage: all islands
- Will fly to other islands- one day trip will come home in the evening.
- Longer repairs may require overnight stays.
- Ship job box via barge pick it up in the barge.
- Technician position will require cross-functional work PG/EV/Engine.
- Bulk work load is PG and EV- few blue birds, Gillig-OME bus.
CDL
- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
- A current valid license is required for this role
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
- 3 years driving experience
- This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
- Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
