AVP/VP, Reconciliation Manager, Nostro Reconciliation Unit, Group COO - (WD75381)
Ops COO – NRU unit is the nostro reconciliation hub for DBS group. The unit has two functions:- Nostro account reconciliation & the Business Management Support (BMS) that manages static data, feeds processes and production of daily MIS.
The main focus for this role is to manage the day-to-day reconciliations activities and conduct first level investigation on nostro breaks.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the strategic direction of the global nostro reconciliation team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the daily reconciliation of a high volume of nostro accounts across multiple currencies, countries, and banking partners.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust reconciliation policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of complex discrepancies, escalating critical issues to senior management as needed.
- Proactively identify and address root causes of reconciliation breaks, leveraging data analysis and process improvement methodologies.
- Champion the implementation and optimization of automated reconciliation solutions, driving efficiency and scalability.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track team performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including banks, custodians, and internal business partners.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies impacting nostro account management.
- Develop and manage the team budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
- Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support to achieve individual and team goals.
Requirements:
- A people manager with minimum 8 years of working experience in Banking Operations
- Experience in nostro reconciliation or operations, managing SmartStream TLM system or other reconciliation systems will be highly beneficial.
- Ability to collect and analyse information and make recommendations.
- Able to independently engage Support & Business Unit on reconciliation matters as well as to escalate and articulate issues and proposed resolutions.
- Essential that written, spoken and listening skills are very strong
- Demonstrate effective presentation skills, comfortable with audience of senior level professionals.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and an ability to grow and keep pace with rapid changes in the business.
