About the Job
We’re looking for an experienced Head of Commodity Management (m/f/d) to join one of our portfolio companies and lead its commodity strategy, vendor partnerships, and procurement growth.
In your day-to-day work, you’ll focus on developing supplier relationships, optimizing procurement performance, and driving commercial growth, and get the opportunity to contribute to key strategic and operational initiatives.

In this role, you’ll:
- Identify and engage with vendors for the company’s core product set, negotiating terms to maximize profitability
- Maintain a strong market intelligence network to stay informed on pricing trends, supply dynamics, and trading activity
- Hold ultimate accountability for multi-million euro monthly purchasing decisions and play a key role in margin development and month-over-month growth
- Collect and manage historical pricing data for benchmarking purposes, and perform market analyses to guide buying and selling strategies
- Ensure all buyer contracts are executed as agreed, coordinating closely with the accounts team for invoicing and collections
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, driving long-term commercial partnerships
- Own the P&L for commodity procurement, contributing directly to company profitability
- Optimize the structure of the procurement team (10+ FTE) and lead them in identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing best practices
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Experience working in fast-paced commodity trading environments
- At least 2 years of team leadership experience
- Strong negotiation skills in international contexts
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a clear drive for commercial success
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Strategic and analytical thinker with strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proven ability to thrive in dynamic, deal-driven environments
- Fluent English skills required; German is a plus but not a must
Please note that we are looking for support in the Berlin office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
