Ensure the temple reflects the beauty, cleanliness, and sacred nature of the temple experience.
Maintain standards established by the First Presidency.
Train, motivate, and supervise a crew of full and/or part-time custodians or volunteers.
Assist in custodial work to assure that church buildings are clean and orderly at all times.
Typically responsible for up to 40,000 square feet.
Typcially supervises a crew of up to 8 employees.
Responsibilities
Supervise a crew of custodians by interviewing prospects, providing training, creating schedules, assisting in performance management and assigning individual tasks.
Make decisions, under the direction of the manager, on proper equipment, techniques, chemicals and maintenance of church buildings.
Maintain discipline, performance and morale among custodians.
Monitor physical condition of all areas and reports maintenance and repair needs to manager.
Initiate orders for custodial supplies and stay within budget.
Perform custodial work including but not limited to: vacuuming, dusting, mopping; cleaning kitchen/cafeteria, restrooms, carpets and upholstery; and washing windows.
Qualifications
Two to four years of custodial, maintenance, or related experience.
Experience working in a temple is preferred.
One to two years of supervisory experience.
Thorough knowledge of important aspects of custodial maintenance, including custodial supplies and cleaning chemicals.
Familiarity with applicable health and safety regulations.
Degree or certification in custodial maintenance or related field preferred.
