Do you want to be part of the foundational team that's driving innovation and efficiency in Amazon's last mile fleet team? The Fleet Operations and Capacity Management team is seeking a motivated Senior Manager to be a core member of the leadership team. This position will lead the end-to-end strategy and implementation for vehicle deployment, vehicle delivery logistics optimization, and vehicle readiness across Amazon's U.S. and Canadian delivery fleet.

As a Senior Manager, you will work with executive leaders both internally and externally. You will collaborate across key internal teams including operations, finance, technology, and planning. Your team will define the fleet deployment strategy, develop roadmaps and action plans, and drive implementation. You will be the external face of Fleet Operations and Capacity Management with carriers, fleet management companies, and other partners, fostering relationships to implement strategic initiatives. You will ensure your team is working with communities and vehicles are registered and compliant with local regulations. You'll work to develop your team in a fast-paced environment and will be required to lead not only at the strategic level but also manage tactically day-to-day activities by diving deeply into business and technical domains.

Key job responsibilities

End-to-end ownership of the fleet deployment and optimization strategy, from idea generation to implementation

Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally across multiple teams in operations, finance, technology, and planning to define strategic roadmaps

Own the implementation of strategies with external partners, including carriers and fleet management companies

Thrive in ambiguity and drive innovation in fleet management practices

Think Big and long term, identifying opportunities for scalability and cost reduction

Understand a wide variety of business and operational topics, translating requirements into actionable plans

Manage stakeholders, influencing with and without authority

About the team

The Fleet Operations and Capacity Vehicle Delivery team manages transportation and vehicle readiness for Amazon's U.S. and Canadian delivery fleet (AMZL, AMXL, and RSR). Our mission is to deliver safe, road-ready vehicles on time while optimizing costs. We drive initiatives across capacity solutions, efficiency improvements, and long-term scalability to support Amazon's growing delivery network.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of team management experience
  • 7+ years of supply chain or logistics experience
  • 7+ years of working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams
  • 7+ years of program or project management experience
  • 7+ years of managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
  • Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget, and quality
  • MBA or advanced degree in a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with fleet management, transportation logistics, and/or automotive industry
  • Familiarity with lean/six sigma methodologies and process improvement techniques

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
