Amazon is handling hundreds millions of products in Japan. In terms of the business model, all of the items from the various suppliers are collected at Fulfillment Center(FC) at once. Then, they will be reached out to our individual customers via Delivery Stations(DS) , which are located in various locations in Japan. The latter part of logistics business to deliver the products from DS to customer is managed by Amazon Logistics(AMZL). AMZL is currently focusing on increasing number of DSs and expanding our networks in Japan so that we can reach out to more customers with better speed and cost.

AMZL is seeking a highly skilled and passionate person to help develop a world-class delivery network that delivers products on time at the lowest cost to the customers. Our mission is to build the most efficient delivery network on the planet. The position will be responsible for leading the long team design, planning and monitoring of Amazon’s last mile delivery network in Japan.

Key job responsibilities

  • Identify and deploy cost saving solutions and programs for CAPEX and Opex for Last Mile network in Japan
  • Build strong collaboration with NA/EU/RoW Network Planning teams to localize topology and jurisdiction optimization engines for AMZL Japan
  • Own the lifecycle of Channel topology Optimization and Jurisdiction Optimization Engine for core network
  • Localize scalable solutions for Sub Same Day topology planning and Ultra Fast Delivery network in Tier 1 and Tier 2 prefectures in Japan

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
