As a 3D Artist Contractor your role will be both highly creative and technical. You'll be working closely with 3D Visualizers, Industrial Designers, and Program Managers to develop high fidelity 3D models and photorealistic 3D renderings to use across our brand marketing channels. You have comprehensive experience and knowledge using leading 3D modeling, rendering, and image editing programs. We are looking for someone who is self motivated and collaborative, able to work within tight deadlines, is creative, a great communicator, and a great technical problem solver. The duration of this contract will be 3-6 months.

Thuma’s Headquarters is based in the historic Presidio neighborhood of San Francisco. The role involves three days in the office each week and occasional additional days as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high fidelity complex 3D models including soft goods.
  • Create photorealistic renders and animations for product detail pages as well as more immersive lifestyle imagery in line with the brand identity.
  • Manage the organization and cataloging of large quantities of 2D and 3D assets.
  • Streamline relevant post production workflows.
  • Support product imagery storyboards and image lists.
  • Help communicate with rendering partners as needed.

What You'll Need

  • Portfolio featuring world-class 3D modeling and rendering works.
  • 2-4 years experience as a 3D Visualizer / CGI Artist.
  • Advanced 3D modeling skills in programs such as Blender (preferred), Cinema 4D, Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya, and Marvelous Designer.
  • Advanced rendering skills with render engines such as Cycles (preferred), V-Ray, Corona, Octane, Houdini, Redshift.
  • Ability to design and execute captivating motion graphic projects.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Color editing and correction skills.
  • Experience working on an Apple or PC computer and with a render farm.
  • Ability to work to a brief and under the direction of Designers, meeting deadlines and keeping within the scope of projects.
  • Experience working with end to end 3D and 2D production workflows and strong accuracy in assessing project turnaround time.
  • Experience using video editing programs (a plus but not required).
