Job Title:   Senior Software Development Engineer (IN)

Job Purpose:

         Work closely with different business and technology units to understand their data warehousing and reporting needs

         Create data warehouses, database designs and implementation

         Act as a coach and mentor for other developers to the business intelligence capabilities.

 

Key Result Area:

 

Implementation of Business Intelligence strategy (approx. 30% of time)

 

         Work closely with different business and technology units to understand their data warehousing and reporting needs

         Create data warehouses, database designs and implementation

         Act as a coach and mentor for other developers within team business intelligence capabilities

 

Ensure efficient and high quality project delivery (approx. 70% of time)

 

         Perform test driven development (TDD) within the Agile software development process

         Have a good understanding of ETL processes for data loading into data warehouses

         Develop and maintain reports to the business

         Contribute to achieving continuous improvement within the standards and processes for the ongoing development

         Be a confident, pro-active technology and data integration evangelist

         Responsible for documented releases, and working with the Operations team to ensure systems are robust and well-supported

         Ensure collaborative and effective relations with colleagues in other teams to help enable successful business outcomes

         Undertake development activities, as required

 

Functional and Technical Competencies:

 

         ETL tools and processes, Talend is preferable although cross training can be provided

         Database modelling, design & development within Oracle as well as other database platforms

         Oracle OBIEE Development

         Oracle 12g database query development and tuning experience

         Agile development – inc use of Jira, continuous integration, continuous delivery

         Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form relationships across the business

 

 

Education, Skills and Experience:

 

Exposure to the following is desirable:

         Using test tools and automated tests to support development

         Tableau data visualization tools

         Exposure to AWS and Redshift

         Java exposure

         Any exposure to Master Data Management solutions
