The Speed Program Manager leads initiatives to improve speed in different GVS buckets by moving program and product levers as well as modifying system configurations such as caps, handling times, pads, transit times, dwell times. The Speed PM identifies the problem and creates solutions with little guidance working backwards from our speed goals and independently mobilizing other teams to deliver results. This person constantly benchmarks with other geographies and competitors to bring best practices, influences stakeholders to prioritize actions that will lead to speed gains, indentify and mitigates risks on other business variables such as pick up and delivery accurancy making judgement calls to find the best balance for our customers. T

Key job responsibilities

  • Dive deep in the details of Promise and Scheduling systems work
  • Inspects input metrics (transit times, transportation caps across all miles and warehouse capacity) and output metrics (promised speed, actual speed) and drive owners to resolve defects
  • Represents the team in multiple forums,with senior audience, prepares blurbs for reporting results and answer questions
  • Lead initiatives to delay sellers' and vendors' pick up slots and to drive adoption of 6/7 days working week

A day in the life

You will meet with your team, attend business reviews, read and write documents, dive deep on systems, processes, dashboards to track your metrics and uncover opportunities. You will have lunch together and hang out with the rest of the team. You will celebrate wins, be self critical to find opportunities for improvement and follow up on plans to bridge gaps.

External Fulfillment operations team is resonsible for fulfilling orders from seller and vendor owned warehouses using their labor. We are accountable for delivering operational excellency at a affordable cost and best in class speed. We strive to continuosly improve partners and customers experience. Our channels are scaling the fastest at Amazon operations and there is a lot of innovation happening.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree;
  • Program or project management experience;
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements;
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership;
  • Advanced English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Change management experience;
  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field.
