Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Licensed Architect for a Senior Program Manager for our New York Metro Architecture group based in our New York City office to be responsible for client account management and program management for a large-scale, dynamic program. Alternatively, this role can be based out of either our Piscataway, NJ or Bloomfield, NJ office.

The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for the following items, but not limited to:

  • Will act as Program Manager and be responsible for multiple, concurrent NYC Local Law 97 building upgrades
  • The successful Program Manager will require extensive experience in design through to the completion of construction of New Jersey and New York commercial building projects
  • Manages more complex projects that tend to be larger in scope and dollar, thereby increasing the potential for larger change orders and consequences of error
  • May act independently as the IE representative with consulting firms and ensures that the final product reflects the original scope and budget requirements
  • Increasing responsibility for leadership of direct reports
  • Manages more complex projects that tend to be larger in scope and dollar, thereby increasing the potential for larger change orders and consequences of error
  • May act independently as the IE representative with consulting firms and ensures that the final product reflects the original scope and budget requirements
  • Internal subject matter expert on specific complex technical solutions or processes
  • Actively participates in professional and industry organizations as a board member and industry event organizer or speaker
  • Innovates to develop new business opportunities and markets that innovation to potential and existing clients
  • Serves as Lead Verifier on projects confirming that the technical approach satisfies the client scope of services and expectations
  • Engages with project technical teams within field of expertise to confirm project approach and review deliverables
  • Regularly reviews/audits projects to confirm appropriate technical quality activities are implemented to prevent rework and legal claims
  • Accountable for the performance and results for their area
  • Leads a technical discipline, mid-size client program or multiple company processes or programs

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture and 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership experience
  • Registered Architect (RA, NCARB)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in Architectural Design and project leadership in client-facing roles
  • Proven success managing projects of great complexity
  • Experience and familiarity with the New Jersey and New York Metro markets
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with building sustainability upgrades, including the design and installation of solar panels, new MEPF equipment, facade renovations, etc., including extensive construction administration experience
  • Extensive experience in design through to the completion of construction of New York commercial building projects
  • Strong organizational and team leadership skills
  • Strong communication skills, working with design and construction professionals as well as construction subcontractors
  • Software Proficiency: Microsoft Office - MS Excel, MS Word

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $190,000.00 - $245,000.00
