We are seeking a strategic and customer-obsessed Director of Product Management to lead our product organization and drive the next generation of our warehouse robotics solutions.
As the Director of Product Management, you will be the chief advocate for our customers, deeply understanding their challenges and translating those insights into a clear and compelling product strategy, working closely with engineering to deliver on your vision. You will manage a team of product managers who own delivering specific applications and technologies. You will own the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and market analysis to launch and continuous improvement. This is a critical leadership role that requires a unique blend of business acumen, technical understanding, and a passion for building products that solve real-world problems in the dynamic logistics industry.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Product Vision & Strategy: Develop and champion a clear, long-term product vision and strategy for our warehouse robotics portfolio. This includes our robots, off robot systems, and the overarching software platform. Define what we should build to solve customers’ problems and ensure that we have durable long-term priorities. Explore opportunities for partnership and industry collaboration. Clearly articulate what we will not do.
- Market & Customer Insights: Be the foremost expert on the warehouse automation market, our competitors, and, most importantly, our customers. Conduct market research, customer interviews, and data analysis to identify and prioritize market opportunities.
- Roadmap & Prioritization: Own the product roadmap, effectively prioritizing initiatives and features to deliver maximum value to our customers and align with our strategic goals. Make data-driven decisions to guide resource allocation. Collaborate with engineering to manage priorities and resources to deliver the most impactful features.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with and influence key stakeholders across the organization, including engineering, go to market, service and support, and operations, to ensure the successful development, launch, and sustainment of new products and features.
- Collaboration with Engineering: Ensure that you and your team of product managers are in lock step with engineering. Highlight the biggest opportunities, work through tradeoffs with hardware and software engineering to deliver the highest quality solutions for customers. Facilitate opportunities for engineering to see challenges first hand to invent solutions.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Guide the product management team through the entire product lifecycle, writing detailed requirements and user stories. Collaborate with go-to-market teams to develop strategies and to measure ongoing success.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of high-performing product managers. Foster a culture of customer-centricity, innovation, engineering collaboration, and accountability.
- Organizational Design: Establish an organizational structure for the product management team and a means to measure its effectiveness, focused on execution and planning for future growth, and ensuring an ability to work on both short-term and long-term needs. Create areas of product management focus that is aligned with our strategy.
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in product management.
- At least 5 years in a product management leadership capacity, preferably within the warehouse robotics technology sector.
- Proven experience in defining and launching successful products, ideally in robotics for automation, supply chain, or a related industrial field.
- A deep understanding of product management best practices, including market analysis, user research, and agile development methodologies.
- Deep understanding of and experience in the logistics industry, having successfully delivered ROI-positive solutions for this end market.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate a vision and influence stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to use data to drive decision-making.
- A genuine passion for technology and a desire to be at the forefront of the warehouse automation revolution.
