Responsibilities

  • Program CMMs per Polaris requirements.
  • Complete first article inspections as required.
  • Support and provide input for CMM fixture development.
  • Troubleshoot CMM measurement issues (programming, hardware, etc.).
  • Develop and manage CMM maintenance routines, plans, and activities.
  • Train others on proper measuring equipment and measuring techniques.
  • Ensure proper selection and oversight/maintenance of inspection or measurement devices.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Experience & Skills

  • 3+ years of experience of CMM programming (PCDMIS strongly preferred, Calypso preferred). Experience programming for complex parts preferred.
  • 3+ years machining blueprint reading and GD&T experience preferred.
  • First article inspection (FAI) experience preferred.
  • Experience using a wide variety of manual inspection equipment (e.g. bore gages, micrometers, pins, comparator, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret CMM reports.
  • Ability to navigate Excel software efficiently.

Education

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Technical (trades certificate/diploma) or equivalent training preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment.

  • Definitions: Constant (6-8 hrs./shift); Frequent (2-5 hrs./shift); Occasional (up to 2 hrs./shift).

Minimum/starting rate: $27.00/hour
