What this job involves

The ideal candidate will have a passion for interior design, a strong design sensibility, and an eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will work closely with senior and intermediate designers to support the development of workplace design concepts and detailed drawings. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to kick-start their career in the design industry and gain valuable experience in a collaborative, dynamic, and multi-cultural work environment.

• Assist senior designers in creating design concepts, layouts, and detailed drawings for workplace interiors.
• Research materials, finishes, furniture, and equipment to support the design concept and budget.
• Create presentations, mood boards, and 3D visualizations to communicate design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
• Support the design team to deliver medium to large-scale workplace projects.
• Undertake site, furniture, and equipment surveys.
• Attend meetings with clients, contractors, and suppliers when required to discuss design specifications and project timelines.
• Day-to-day project coordination efforts with the ability to prioritize deadlines.
• Provide support on projects from inception to completion with the design and project team members.
• Create project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Provide design support during all phases of design, ensuring that the design intent is maintained.

Desired experience and technical skills

Required

• A degree in interior design or a related field, with 1-2 years of experience in workplace interior design.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Knowledge of workplace design trends, building codes, and industry standards.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from intermediate and senior designers.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate and coordinate with vendors, suppliers & contractors for requesting information and samples.
• Fluent in written and spoken English; fluent in spoken Cantonese

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, team collaboration skills essential for team-based working.
• Somebody who is known for getting things done.
• Are you a good team player? You should be able to work well in a multi-cultural, multilingual team environment.
