Job Title: Director, Workforce Excellence - Store Operations

Location: Columbus, OH

Job Type: Full-time

Overview: The Director of Workforce Excellence will be a trailblazer in creating workforce management capabilities and competencies within the Safelite AutoGlass family. This role will help to establish guidelines and best practices that will enable our distributed store operations to optimally staff to meet the needs of our customers while also ensuring Safelite is the employer of choice for AutoGlass professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the vision and roadmap for Workforce Management for Safelite's store operations.
  • Create roster guidelines for each store to optimize the right mix of technicians, support staff, and operational staff based on unique store characteristics.
  • Innovate and implement scheduling tools and practices to bring Safelite to best-in-class scheduling practices.
  • Support Field and Finance organizations through the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecast adjustments.
  • Conduct time studies to develop labor standards for existing processes and tasks.
  • Interact regularly with executive leadership including the COO and Senior Vice Presidents to drive change in performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Industrial Engineering degree and/or MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years in a workforce management role in a distributed operation (non-call center).
  • 2+ years in a management role.
  • Multi-site retail organization experience preferred.
  • Consulting background and/or process innovation experience a plus.

  • Initiative: Ability to think creatively and be a self-starter with limited guidance.
  • Influence: Ability to persuade senior leaders and work with field operators to drive change.
  • Comfort with Independent Work: Ability to alternate between thought leadership and on-the-ground task delivery and execution.
