The York site of BAE Systems in support of Combat Mission Systems is seeking a Quality Supervisor for the 2nd Shift. This role is charged in leading the support of Receiving Inspection activities on 2nd Shift. The Quality Supervisor leads, directs, and trains the Quality Inspectors: Visual Inspection ("QIVI") bargaining unit and salaried staff. Oversees inspection processes, receipt transactions, and protocols. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement (CI) efforts. Develops programs and leads training for A3 projects and Kaizen events. And, maintains a safe work environment, ensuring shift metrics, quality requirements, and protocols are delivered.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Typically requires a high school diploma and eight years related experience, or an associates degree and six years related experience, or the overall equivalent;
  • Prior experience specifically in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role;
  • Experience operating within the ISO 9001 standard;
  • Excellent problem solving skills and analytical ability;
  • Background in problem solving techniques (A3, DMAIC, etc);
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications;
  • Experience in team leading in a bargaining unit / union environment;
  • Experience leading a team to deliver desired quality and production results;
  • Ability to provide collaborative training, mentoring, and coaching;
  • Must be able to support 2nd shift hours and be sufficiently flexible to support department overtime needs.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • ASQ Certification;
  • Experience managing a quality program in support of government contracts, preferably DoD;
  • Formal training in root cause analysis;
  • Experience implementing APQP in a low-rate, technically complex product environment.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $73778 - $125422

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
