Description

We are seeking a Data Quality Analyst with Business Analyst expertise to support data engineering and governance initiatives. This hybrid role involves ensuring data accuracy and integrity through systematic QA processes, while also analyzing and documenting business workflows, data lineage, and functional requirements. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between technical and business teams, playing a crucial role in validating data pipelines and ensuring process transparency.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance for Data Engineering:

Validate data pipelines, ETL processes, and data transformations to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Design and execute test cases to verify source-to-target data mapping and transformation logic.

Identify data anomalies, inconsistencies, and quality issues, and collaborate with data engineers to resolve them.

Work with large datasets using SQL and other data analysis tools for validation and troubleshooting.

Business Analysis & Documentation:

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document data requirements, business rules, and workflows.

reate clear and concise documentation including data flow diagrams, process maps, and requirement specifications.

Maintain traceability between business requirements, technical specifications, and QA validation.

Workflow and Process Management:

Participate in UAT and data reviews, ensuring business needs are met with high data quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

5 8 years of experience in QA andor Business Analysis, ideally supporting data engineering or analytics teams.

understanding of ETL/ELT workflows, data warehousing, and data lifecycle management.

Proficiency in SQL for data validation and analysis.

Experience working with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Airflow (preferred), or similar workflow/documentation tools.

Excellent skills in writing test plans, test cases, and business/technical documentation.

Ability to interpret and document complex business processes and data flows.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.

Exposure to data catalog, lineage, or governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation) is a plus.

Understanding of data privacy and compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) is a bonus.Edcation

Bachelordegree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field.

Additional Information:

This is an offshore (India-based) remote role with opportunities to work with global data and analytics teams.

Ideal for QA professionals who have transitioned into or supported business analysis, especially in data-focused projects.
