As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a vital role in supporting organ transplantation by performing complex, high-impact testing that directly contributes to patient outcomes. Primary duties include:
- Perform and document complex laboratory tests – including immunophenotyping assays and flow cytometry – with precision and accuracy.
- Conduct quality control procedures in compliance with manufacturer protocols, department guidelines, ASHI standards, State Department of Health regulations, and other applicable accrediting bodies.
- Enter and retrieve data accurately using the Medical Center LIS and UIC LIS, ensuring consistency through supervisor or senior staff review.
- Complete CAP survey samples and competency exams accurately and within designated time frames.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions and laboratory protocols.
In addition to a competitive salary range, this position is also eligible for shift differentials.
Salary Range: $53.31/hour - $71.04/hour
Qualifications
- Current, valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist (CHS) license.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Ability to work outside of normal shift hours, including on-call and rotating weekends.
- Must pass the Ishihara Color Vision exam, i.e. visual acuity including color differentiation.
