Job Description
We have an opportunity for a Sr. Advanced LSS Industrial Automation Engineer to join us at Honeywell, in Bucharest, where you will be responsible for process control / Safety Instrumented Systems / Human Machine Interface / Hardware Design on industrial process automation projects in industries like: Oil & Gas, Refining, Petrochemicals, Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals, Specialty Chemicals. The scope of the projects might also include 3rd party integration, SCADA, PLC programming and migrations, System engineering, Cyber Security, Networking and Virtualization.
Responsibilities:
- Acts as technical interface with customers, establishing professional relationships to ensure that the technical project requirements are fully defined, agreed and delivered within schedule and cost constraints.
- Acts as technical interface to 3rd party suppliers to assure correct functionality of the 3rd party deliverables including the correct integration of those deliverables in Honeywell systems or solutions.
- Ensures that required prerequisites (e.g. design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, schedule and budget) are in place prior to commencing work.
- Produces and / or approves Functional and Detailed Design Specifications (FDS / DDS) and provides technical leadership, support and expertise for the project team.
- Ensures that the engineered solution meets project requirements, across all disciplines, in terms of functionality, Honeywell standard designs & design rules, quality, and supports documentation and implementation process at minimum cost by optimizing use of global productivity tools and other Standard Builds deliverables.
- If required, the engineer can execute work assignments together with the project team at the appropriate standards and quality.
- Monitors and controls technical project scope against the Project Execution Plan and Functional & Detailed Design Specifications, ensures effective change control and identifies risks / opportunities.
- Proactively recommends potential quality and efficiency improvements and shares technical knowledge back to Discipline Communities, the Engineering Excellence organization and the project team.
- Reports progress and technical problems and / or changes to project manager.
- Shares technical knowledge with project team, supervisor, own discipline and other engineering disciplines.
- Works together with the Project Manager to follow the project budget, schedule and scope and deliver qualitative deliverables to the customer.
- Responsible for technical scope of assigned projects
- Travel to customer required at a yearly average of 50% (flexibility is required)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor / Master of Science Degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university. Preferred specializations: Automation and Computers, Informatics, Mathematics, Cybernetics, Electronics.
- 3-5 years project experience as Senior or Advanced Project Engineer
- Minimum 10 years of relevant project experience
- Experience on minimum 3 projects as Stream / Lead Engineer
- Relevant site hands-on experience on System, DCS and / or SIS - minimum 5 sites.
- Extensive customer interfacing experience.
- PAS Product certification - LSS Epks L2 minimum, any of the rest or upper levels represent an advantage.
