What you’ll be doing...

The purpose of the Verizon Connect Revenue Engineering organization is to build sustainable, scalable solutions and practices to promote continuous delivery and continuous improvement. The organization is responsible for automation testing, devops, system administration, Agile best practices, and cross system enhancements and governance. The team is divided into three distinct functions: Testing Automation, System Administration, and Platform Scalability.

This role Interacts regularly with Directors, Associate Directors, and management of GTS. Also interacts regularly with business stakeholders, senior leadership of ePMO, and PA teams The team will also work regularly with the larger Verizon Business Group to bridge the gaps between respective sales strategies.

As the Senior Manager of Quality Assurance Testing, you will have four primary responsibilities:

(i) - The Senior Manager of Quality Assurance Testing is primarily responsible for defining and implementing the technical quality assurance testing strategy for Verizon Connect’s in-sprint UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and QA (Quality Assurance) teams. You will determine the metrics, best practices, and methodology to achieve your vision for your testing team. You will audit qTest reports to ensure department KPI’s are met, implement process improvements, capacity plan, and work alongside your automation peers to ensure teams run efficient and effective testing cycles . You will spend about 25% of your time assisting your team with in-sprint testing and the other 75% performing leadership activities such as leading your team, data analysis, escalation management, process improvement, release planning, and capacity planning.

(ii) - The Senior Manager of Quality Assurance Testing will be responsible for leading a team of in-sprint UAT / QA testers throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure quality product is launched to production. You will distribute work, attend daily standups / grooming meetings, and train new team members. You will also work closely with the Vendor Management team to hire / onboard contractor talent in order to mitigate Verizon Co-Employment risks

(iii)- The Senior Manager of Quality Assurance Testing will be responsible for establishing cross functional relationships in order to drive Agile best practices across Verizon Connect. You will collaborate with testing leads and leadership on testing escalations to ensure a swift resolution. You will work closely with GTS leadership on release calendar dates and hold teams accountable for the agreed upon deadlines. You will build a brand as the expert and go-to person for in-sprint UAT/QA testing.

(iv) - Senior Manager of Quality Assurance Testing, you will be responsible for collaborating with your automation peers on the overall VZC Automation strategy. You will implement a “shift-left” strategy in order to drive in sprint automation. As a leader of in-sprint UAT/QA testers, you will collaborate with your testing leads on determining best practices around combining automation and in-sprint testing to ensure all testing requirements are met.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • General Knowledge of Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, & Slides), mandatory experience with Salesforce as a user, admin experience desirable.
  • Experience leading a team of technical resources.
  • Familiarity with the Agile framework.
  • Expert knowledge of QA / UAT testing best practices and the software development life cycle

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Need to be inquisitive and constantly wondering how we can make the testing cycle faster, more effective, and/or easier to complete.
  • Must be able to work autonomously and make large business impacting decisions confidently. Subject matter expertise in a large variety of additional software applications as well as the business acumen required to apply them to business problems.
  • Ability to see the big picture and potential risks of interaction between systems.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
