Job Description

BAE Systems' F35 Lightning II program has an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified systems engineer to analyze F-35 JSF prognostic performance data to derive prospective algorithm candidates. In this role the individual performs as part of the F-35 Off-Board Prognostics and Health Management (OBPHM) and Force Life Management (FLM) teams. The individual responsibilities consist of analyzing performance data to identify critical items degrading fleet performance and converting the information into presentable format for required stakeholders to support maintenance and maturation of the F-35.

Perform in depth analysis of maintenance data to determine the root cause of aircraft part failures trending across the fleet. Analyses are performed from a variety of technical sources. Must be able to communicate effectively with Subject Matter Experts and Data Scientists to provide evidence of the root cause of failures.

Additional responsibilities include:

1. Analyze field performance data to drive decisions for solution alternatives.
2. Develop solutions to complex problems consistent with performance metrics and reporting.
3. Analyze system trends experienced in the field.
4. Aid in the rapid identification of emerging issues to avoid aircraft downtime.
5. Identify unique operational problems that require technical, procedural, or quality assurance actions to improve system performance.

Candidate will maintain open lines of communication to provide proactive interface with stakeholders on performance metric reporting. Candidate will be a self-starter, manage time appropriately and have the ability to establish and maintain a library of technical performance reporting.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college (preferably in an engineering focused or STEM discipline), OR equivalent experience/combined education.
• Previous experience performing Reliability Predictions, Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECAs), and/or Reliability/Stress testing.
• Experience supporting Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS), (i.e. aircraft maintenance data).
• Experience with performance data analytics and/or root cause analysis (i.e. metrics requirement definition, performance data analysis, and/or reporting activities).
• Able to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical personnel.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• F-35/F-22 aircraft maintenance background.
• F-35 avionics mission systems background
• Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience developing and delivering presentations to peers, management, and customers.
• Strong reliability engineering background with a good understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.
• Analytical thinker with a demonstrated ability of solving complex problems which require ingenuity and innovation.

Experience using data visualization software such as Tableau or Power BI

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $86460 - $146982

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
